As a Las Vegas Wedding Photographer I have spoken at length about my love for Engagement Photos. So I wanted to show you TOP 11 BEST Las Vegas Locations for your Engagement Photos. None of them are glitzy, but all of them are glamorous in their own way.
You will notice Las Vegas natural landscape is full of neutral tones to allow for bright and airy photography. In other words, my subjects always standout amongst the scenic backdrops. The scenery looks like something that came from another planet! Lay your eyes on these gorgeous vistas.
1. Valley of Fire State Park
World-renowned for its 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in gray and tan limestone, Valley of Fire State Park contains ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years. On a sunny day, these rock formations look like they are on fire, giving the park its name, the Valley of Fire. It’s unique landscape makes it a breathtaking and original place to have a Las Vegas Engagement Photos done. And the sunsets here are seriously to die for, just like the one I photographed during this engagement session!
2. El Dorado Dry Lake Bed
You are looking for a breathtaking Engagement Session spot…Better than the beach, this simplistic and landscape is a great choice for your Las Vegas Engagement Photos. With a simple color scheme it will allow your dress to really shine! The way the light touches the ground and shines behind the mountains makes this spot look heavenly like in this Engagement session.
3. Mount Charleston
If you are a mountaineer and like a little more adventure, come and be bewildered by the trees at Mt. Charleston. For me, being surrounded by trees puts me in a peaceful and calmed state of mind. The lush green scerery will not only put you in a serene state for your Engagement session, it will also be a beautiful enhancement to your Las Vegas Engagement photos.
4. Nelson Landing Ghost Town
Nelson Landing Ghost Town is based in Eldorado Canyon at the historical Techatticup Mine. It’s the oldest, richest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada. Located just 45 minutes from the Strip in Las Vegas. For a historian or someone who just wants a unique antiqued backdrop to their photos I highly recommend Nelson’s Landing Ghost Town. There aren’t many places that stand still in time like this one.
5. Nellis Sand Dunes
Arriving at the Nellis Sand Dunes you would think you were in Morocco and it is only 40 minute drive from Las Vegas. The Dunes are a perfect location for a laid back couple who want to kick off their shoes, put their toes in the warm sand and feel like they are the only two people on the planet. There is not a person or creature in sight at the Dunes. The atmosphere allows the world to drown out and you and your significant other will become the focus. The details you will remember in your Engagement session should be each other and nothing else.
6. Spring Mt. Ranch
For someone who wants a little country in their life, Spring Mountain Ranch will be the fantastic backdrop you need for your Engagement session. White picket fences, grand mountains in the background and some wide open spaces, this Ranch will be the quiant spot to start your new life as a couple.
7. The Neon Museum
Located on Las Vegas Boulevard just north of the Mob Museum, the Neon Museum pays tribute to the Las Vegas light show. The nearly 2-acre outdoor exhibit is home to more than 200 pieces of old Vegas signage all laid out for admiration on the desert floor. The Neon Museum is full of color and makes for a unique, retro backdrop to a Las Vegas engagement session. If you are looking something screaming Las Vegas, the Neon Museum is perfect choice.
8. Floyd Lamb Park
The Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is a welcome oasis with its 680-acre park with wildlife, lush vegetation, lakes and views of the Sheep and Spring Mountains. I really enjoy shooting at his location. With so many different ideal spots for photography within the park, you could easily cover desert landscape, lush green trees, and a large pond all in one session. The park changes slightly with seasons (one of the few areas of the valley to experience a “true Fall”), with Fall colors usually occurring later in the season, near mid-November.
9. Downtown Arts District Las Vegas
The Downtown Arts District in Vegas is another fun, unique, urban spot for Engagement Photo in Las Vegas that’s OFF the strip! It’s just a short 15-20 minute drive from the strip so it’s super easy to get to!
It features several different types of wall murals and art pieces so if you LOVE this type art then you’ll LOVE this location!
10. Gilcrease Orchard
The nearly 100-year-old Gilcrease orchard set on sixty acres of land is unlike anything else in the Las Vegas area due to its vibrant greenness and amazing produce.Vegetable crops and row upon row of apple and other fruit trees like pears, apricots and plums makes perfect, unique location for Engagement Photos.
11. Smith Center Las Vegas
Smith Center it’s a performing arts venue bringing tons of culture to Las Vegas through broadway shows, jazz shows and philharmonic concerts. The property has gorgeous art deco architecture and lots of pretty, neutral walkways with greenery. Smith Center is perfect location for Engagement Photos with elegant and modern look.
12. Tule Springs Fossil Beds
Just north of Las Vegas, Nevada is Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument. This monument captures a prehistoric time in rock with fossils of extinct mammoths, lions, camels, horses, bison, dire wolves, and several other creatures that roamed what once were wetlands of the area. Tule Springs Fossil Beds represents a period that ranges from 200,000 to 3,000 years ago. The area was once so abundant with mammoths that it has been referred to as “mammoth central.” This location is just perfect for Engagement Sessions and one of my new favorites.
