So the idea just clicked: what if we skipped the big-wedding stress and eloped in Vegas… this weekend? First things first: you are not too late. Couples plan whole Las Vegas elopements in 48 hours all the time. Some of my favorite weddings came together in two days, and honestly, that spontaneous energy shows up in the photos.
I am Siga, a Las Vegas elopement photographer, and last-minute elopements are kind of my specialty. I reply to every inquiry fast, usually within the hour during the day, and I will tell you honestly if your date is open. This post is the exact playbook I walk my short-notice couples through: the license, the chapels that say yes on short notice, where to take photos, and what to skip when there is no time.

Why Las Vegas is the best place on earth to elope last-minute
- No waiting period. Get your marriage license and you can legally marry the same day. Not next week. The same day.
- The Marriage License Bureau is open 8 AM to midnight, every single day. Weekends, holidays, all of it.
- Chapels run ceremonies daily and most can fit a short, sweet ceremony in on a few days’ notice (sometimes the same day, especially on weekdays).
- Everything is close together. License downtown, chapel ten minutes away, neon lights everywhere. A whole wedding fits into one evening here.
The 48-hour Vegas elopement timeline
The day you arrive
- Start your marriage license application online before you land. Pre-applying puts you in the faster Express line at the bureau.
- Go get the license together. Clark County Marriage License Bureau, 201 E. Clark Avenue, downtown. Bring photo ID (a passport works great for international couples), your names must match your documents exactly, and the fee is $102. The whole visit usually takes under an hour.
- Confirm your ceremony. Chapel, officiant, or both. If you want a chapel, call them directly and ask two things: do they have your time slot, and can you bring your own photographer.
Your wedding day
- Keep the day simple. Hair and makeup if you want it, a great outfit, comfortable shoes for later.
- Ceremony about an hour before sunset. You get soft, golden chapel photos in daylight.
- Then downtown after dark. Fremont Street in full neon is unlike anything else, and it photographs like pure magic at night. Two completely different vibes, one evening.
- Keep your marriage license ON you. This is the one thing that actually trips couples up. You cannot get married without it, so tuck it in your bag the night before.

The marriage license, fast version
- Where: Clark County Marriage License Bureau, 201 E. Clark Ave, open 8 AM to midnight daily.
- Cost: $102 (cash or card; card adds a small surcharge).
- Speed it up: fill out the application online first, then finish in person, together.
- No blood test, no waiting period. The license is valid for one year, and your ceremony must happen in Nevada.
- One witness required. Your chapel or officiant can provide one, and if it is just the two of you, I am happy to sign as your witness 🙂
Which chapels can you actually book last-minute?
Most Vegas chapels are built for short notice, it is kind of their whole thing. But here is the insider detail that matters if you are hiring your own photographer: only a couple of chapels let you bring your own photographer for free. Others charge an outside-photographer fee or only allow their in-house photographer inside. I wrote a full breakdown here: which Vegas chapels let you bring your own photographer.
The short version: A Little White Wedding Chapel (the famous one, with the Tunnel of Love drive-thru and all that classic Vegas magic) and Sure Thing Chapel on Fremont (vintage, retro, very cool-girl Vegas) both welcome your own photographer at no charge. Both take short-notice bookings when they have the slot, so call as soon as you know your date.

No chapel? You can marry almost anywhere
Nevada lets you marry nearly anywhere: under the neon on Fremont, a rooftop overlooking the Strip, a quiet desert overlook. You need three things: your license, a licensed Nevada officiant, and one witness. Officiants book on short notice all the time and many will meet you right at your spot.
One honest last-minute warning from a local: skip Valley of Fire if you only have a few days. It is breathtaking, but photo permits there need to be submitted about 30 days ahead, and ceremonies work through licensed permit companies. It is a plan-ahead location. For a last-minute day, the chapels, Fremont Street, the Strip, and the desert edges of the city give you incredible photos with zero permit stress.
What to skip when there is no time (and what actually matters)
- Skip: elaborate florals, big rentals, anything that needs weeks of lead time. A simple bouquet from a local florist photographs beautifully.
- Skip: overplanning the timeline. One ceremony, one golden-hour window, one neon night walk. That is a full, unforgettable wedding day.
- Matters: your license (seriously, keep it on you), shoes you can walk in, and booking the vendors that lock your date: the ceremony and the photographer.
- Matters: a photographer who answers TODAY, because when your wedding is Saturday, you cannot wait three business days for an email back.
Last-minute questions couples ask me
Can I really book an elopement photographer for today or tomorrow?
Often yes! My calendar has room for short-notice elopements, and I answer inquiries fast, usually within the hour between 6 AM and 9 PM. Text me your date and I will tell you honestly if it is open.
Is a last-minute Vegas elopement more expensive?
The wedding itself? No. The license fee is the same, chapels charge their normal ceremony prices, and my collections are the same whether you book me a year out or a day out. The only thing that gets more expensive last-minute is travel, so grab flights and a room as soon as you decide.
Do we need to have anything planned before contacting you?
Just a date in mind, even a rough one. I will help you figure out the rest: the marriage license steps, which chapels welcome outside photographers, and the best photo spots for your vibe.
We already booked our ceremony. Can you just do the photos?
Absolutely! I photograph elopements at chapels all over Las Vegas, plus the Strip, Fremont Street, and the desert. If your chapel allows an outside photographer, I am there.
Can we get married the same day we land in Las Vegas?
Yes. Nevada has no waiting period and the Marriage License Bureau is open 8 AM to midnight every single day, holidays included. Land, get your license, and you can legally marry that same evening.
How fast will we see our photos?
You will get sneak peeks within days of your elopement, so you can share the news while it is still brand new. The full gallery follows shortly after.
