In a sea of neutrals don’t be afraid to live your life in color! That’s what I learned from photographing this beautiful Newport Beach Yacht Wedding. I met Rashi and Tyee a while back for their engagement session. I remember how calm and beautiful that day was by the lake. As you may remember from their engagement post Tyee is an extremely thoughtful person as he had one of the most incredible proposals planned (Check out their Las Vegas engagement session here). You can tell by his actions and the look in his eyes he loves Rashi very much and this love was gushing on their wedding day.
Marrying of Traditions at this Newport Beach Wedding
As Tyee arrived on a horse in traditional Indian wear, I was mesmerized by the symbolism of that represented– the marriage of not just two people, but two cultures and backgrounds. Shortly after, Rashi arrived in a handcrafted (by Tyee himself!) a pink pin palanquin with gold and sequence accents. The pin palanquin escorted Rashi onto the yacht where the ceremony took place. Between the horse and the pin palanquin, WHAT. AN. ENTRANCE!
Intimate Newport Beach Yacht Wedding
Among an intimate group of friends and family looking out towards the Newport Marina, Rashi walked down the aisle. She wore a traditional American white wedding dress with embellishments covering the bodice of the dress that was stunning. You could feel everyone in the aisles just melting as they said their vows. “I trained in Muay Thai and injured my knee in training. Because of that I had to go to physical therapy for 6 months. I walked into the clinic not thinking I needed to impress anyone, and that’s the day I met Tyee” Rashi laughed. “I was once his patient. And now, years later, I’m his wife!”They made their vows specific to their personalities that also showed a peek into their relationship, by including a line from their favorite movie in their vows. Everyone holding back tears let them flow at that moment.Rashi’s brothers lit up the room with a performance kicking off the reception. The couple later changed into Indian wear to perform some traditional Indian dances, such as the Bfunk dance performance that was very exciting for the guests to watch! Everyone looked like they had a blast, because the couple stayed true to who they were and weren’t afraid to include parts of them and of course add a little color!Rashi and Tyee, it was so special to celebrate with you!!! Thank you for letting me be a part of your big day! You two truly are as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside. I love the way you love your family, your friends, and I felt so honored to be part of that inner circle for a day. I hope you love your photos as much as I loved taking them, and that each time you see them, they help you re-live the magic of your wedding day over and over again. Because that’s what it was…magical, just like the two of you!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from your big day!
