As You may have read in a previous post, I got into photography after becoming a mom. All you engaged couples reading this, watch out, you do start to see the world differently! Now I attribute my three kids to helping me grow into the person and photographer I am today.
Motherhood taught me the importance of Wedding Photography
I was so happy to have all these photos of our kids and of our family time, but I wish I had put more time and effort into capturing those moments prior to my husband and I having kids. An engagement session, our wedding photos, maybe some couples photos after the wedding, this foundation as a couple began to mean more as we expanded our family. Here I am today though taking the lessons I have learned from doing some things, but not others, and using them in my business to help other couples and family make every moment count.
What I learned about Wedding Photography
I love perfect photos, but I learned that “the perfect” is not always that vision have in my head, I leaned to let it go and be with the moment it brings. I always try to capture real authentic moments, those little things we don’t see or just forget, like a mom looking at her newborn baby, or husband looking at his wife. This way you get real emotions, and memories you can pass to generations and can look mack when you feel down or just look at these photos and remember how you felt. It’s truly like having these moments frozen in time.
I Appreciate Photography More Now Than Ever
Weddings are the beginning of love story and in many years when you look back to these photos you remember why you are here in this place, every time you see these photos you fell in love with each other a little bit more. Also for kids and grandkids, it’s so important to have these photos, to remind them about strong marriage and teach them how to build one of their own. When I was a little girl I just loved my parents wedding album, and when you think those photos were at the studio staged looking at the camera. But there was love! And this is what matters the most. My parents are happily married already for 35 years.
My Wedding Photography Aesthetic
If natural was an aesthetic I would pick that! I would say my aesthetic is deffinetly brighter. That’s why I love sunsets. I like to capture the sense of space with natural backgrounds, like the desert, and give lots of space between my subjects and the background to give the photos a light and airy feeling to them. I think that aesthetic makes people happy. While it’s important to find a wedding photographer to match your aesthetic and photography style, it’s also very important that you jive well with your wedding photographer. Making sure you are comfortable talking with them and being yourself with them as much as possible with a camera there is important on your big day! Let’s meet for coffee and see if sparks fly!
