So why did I become Las Vegas Portrait Photographer you asked me? When I became a mom, I started tho see the world differently. Quickly I started feeling an intense love and unbreakable that I could have never imagined before having kids. Shortly after my first child was born had insaciable urge to freeze time. All mothers feel this need, but none have conquered it. I wasn’t going to let anything stop me, so I did what I could do best, take photos… and LOTS of them! I am lucky that I will always have something to take me back in that moment in time.
Looking back at Family Portraits
As you look at photos from years ago, it’s funny how we disect our image less. You may laugh at the terrible hair style or makeup application for a minute, but truly we get a flood of emotions and potentially memories from when you took that picture. I love looking back at my kids newborn photos and remember the exillerating emotion of love, excitement and of course nervousness I felt at the time. My heartaches with joy as I look at photos from just a year or two ago when I remember us all being warm and cozy while snuggling in our PJs.
Freezing Time with Family Portraits
When going to book family photos for my own family I remember asking myself, “Is this family portrait session worth it?” The coordinated outfits, the extra money, are the kids just going to cry?- yep I worried about that too. At first, it doesn’t feel very special to take a break from an “ordinary” and get out of your kids’ nap routine to take some photos. However; those photos become so much more than you can imagine as a parent one day. While you think you are taking a break from an “ordinary day” you are capturing some of the images and feelings that you had in those wonderful years together. It’s magical the way the feelings rush back after seeing the family photos years later.
